John joined Indigo in 2002 and manages our Social Enterprise Business Development Unit. Before joining Indigo, John worked for a leading Edinburgh fund management institution, where he was responsible for analysing businesses, developing economic strategy and fund management.
John brings a particular expertise in business and feasibility planning, impact assessment and financial analysis. These skills are used in our services to social enterprises including leading successful organisations and those taking their first few steps towards entrepreneurship. John has worked closely with small community organisations, supporting them to develop ideas into feasible businesses, as well as developing business plans for multi-million pound projects. While working in fund management, John routinely analysed the business models of many of the largest public companies in the UK and USA. His background in business analysis and developing economic strategies means that John can apply best practice from the business world into a voluntary sector/community context. This means we can test the feasibility of plans through community consultation exercises, financial modelling and sound business planning. John plays a key role in helping clients turn their ideas into sustainable projects and social enterprises. . |
