Indigo is helping the fSDC (for Scotland's Disabled Children) liaison project with its diary project which encourages parents, grandparents and carers with disabled children to open up and share their views and experiences of raising a disabled child in Scotland. The diary will also give young disabled people the opportunity to talk about their experience of growing up. Participants will be asked to record the highs and lows that ordinary family life entails as well as the trials and tribulations of family life, the problems and issues when trying to access services and support. Various methods of diary recording will be encouraged such as blog, paper, visual or audio diaries. Training, mentoring and support will be provided throughout the project lifetime. The diary findings will be collated and fSDC will share these anonymously with key influencers in government. Recommendations will also be made to the change process at the heart of fSDC’s liaison project work to deliver better lives for disabled children and their families. Indigo is currently seeking participants for the project. If you are interested in finding out more about the project and how to take part please contact Stephanie stephanie@indigops.com or download the participant briefing sheet for more information.
