Indigo work closely with Cornerstone Community Care, one of Scotland’s leading care providers. Cornerstone will be hosting the following upcoming events:

Investors Dinner, Wednesday 25th March 2009 at the Radisson, Glasgow:
As a Scottish charity established in 1980 we have a reputation for providing high quality care services.  We operate services throughout Scotland supporting over 1,250 people with disabilities and others in need of support and care.

We are hosting the dinner to raise our profile within the business community in Glasgow and surrounding areas.  The dinner will be a great opportunity for us to target and speak to key business leaders and we expect 45-55 guests on the night. This is not a fundraising event but will assist us with achieving our Aim of enabling the people we support to enjoy a valued life.  For further information or to secure a place at the dinner please contact Joan Cowie at joan.cowie@cornerstone.org.uk

Fragile X Conference 2009, 19th May 2009, Glasgow:
Cornerstone will be hosting a professional conference in partnership with the Fragile X Society on 19th May 2009 in Glasgow. The conference is dedicated to enhancing professional awareness and knowledge of Fragile X Syndrome and this will be the first ever UK professional conference on this subject.

Fragile X syndrome is the most common known cause of inherited learning disability, affecting 1:3600 boys and 1:6000 girls from all populations and ethnic groups. Of individuals affected by fragile X, 30% also have autism and 20% suffer from epilepsy. One in 300 women and one in 800 men are carriers of the condition.

In 1991, the gene which causes fragile X was identified, making accurate diagnosis possible for the first time. The Fragile X Society provides support, information and friendship to families whose children and relatives have fragile X syndrome. They also help the many professionals who are working and caring for children and adults affected by fragile X.  The Society Membership in Scotland is currently sitting at 151 families.   For further information on the conference please contact Joan Cowie at joan.cowie@cornerstone.org.uk
